1 man dead after fire at Hamilton Mountain residence, police say

Police said they attended alongside the fire department to a fire at a residence on Cielo Court, near Stone Church Road E. between Upper Wellington and Upper James streets on Friday at 4 p.m.

One man is dead, police said, after a fire in the Hamilton Mountain.

Police said they attended to a fire at a residence on Cielo Court, near Stone Church Road E. between Upper Wellington and Upper James streets on Friday at 4 p.m. alongside the fire department.

They said a man was fatally injured during the fire.

"At this time, investigators have determined the fire to be non-suspicious," police said in a news release, adding the investigation is ongoing.

  • An earlier version of this story incorrectly said the fire was in a house. In fact, police said it was at a residence, but did not specify further.
