4 people charged after disturbance call in Kitchener saw school placed in hold and secure
Police say it's believed the victims and the suspects are all known to each other
Four people are facing charges including assault, sexual assault, kidnapping and forcible confinement after police investigated a disturbance call in Kitchener.
On Tuesday, police were called to the area of Commonwealth Crescent. As part of their investigation, police learned two people had been assaulted by four suspects. One of the suspects attempted to stab one of the victims and threats were made.
"The suspects stole the victims' belongings and forcibly transported them to a residence on Isabella Street, where further assaults occurred, including a sexual assault against one of the victims," police said in a release Friday.
As police investigated on Tuesday, Williamsburg Public School was placed in a hold and secure. Police say one victim was found at the scene with minor injuries and the officers were told to look for a potential second victim.
Police said the officers "located the remaining involved parties" a short time later.
On Thursday, officers completed a search warrant at a home on Isabella Street and arrested four people.
An 18-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, all from Kitchener, and a 36-year-old man from Waterloo face the following charges:
- Assault with a weapon.
- Sexual assault.
- Forcible confinement (two counts).
- Robbery (two counts).
- Assault (two counts).
- Kidnapping (two counts).
- Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm (two counts).
The 22-year-old male was also charged with two counts of failing to comply with release order.
"Investigators believe the involved individuals are known to each other," police said.
