Police arrest teen in connection to Kitchener shooting
This is the 6th shooting in the region this year and the 4th with no injuries

A 13-year-old boy was arrested Saturday evening following a shooting investigation by Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) that began Thursday in Kitchener.
On Thursday around 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a call in the area of Monte Carlo Street and Victoria Street South after multiple reports of gunshots.
Police arrived to find a group of young people had gathered outside a residential complex when a man approached them.
The man allegedly fired several gunshots into the ground before fleeing the area on foot. Nobody was injured.
On Saturday around 7:10 p.m., the WRPS' General Investigations Unit, Emergency Response Team and patrol officers conducted a search warrant in the area of Strasburg Road and Kingswood Drive.
In a release Sunday morning, police said the search warrant led to the arrest of a 13-year-old male youth. He was charged with multiple firearms-related offences including:
- Point Firearm (two counts).
- Discharge Firearm with Intent - endanger life.
- Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
- Carrying Concealed Weapon.
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
- Unauthorized Possession of Firearm .
- Firearm or Weapon - Possession Contrary to a Prohibitions Order.
- Failure to Comply with Sentence or Disposition (two counts).
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
A previous release from WRPS Friday morning said investigators believe the incident was "targeted."
This is the sixth shooting in the region this year and the fourth with no injuries.
WRPS said the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
