Kitchener man charged after stolen vehicle crashes into 2 parked cars in Guelph's south end
Man, 39, fled scene, was found after nearly an hour and taken to a Hamilton hospital

A 39-year-old Kitchener man has been arrested after a stolen grey Cadillac sedan crashed into two parked vehicles in Guelph's south end on Wednesday morning.
It happened just after 9:30 a.m. ET on Gosling Gardens near Clair Rd. E. and Gordon Street. Police were called to the area for reports of a three-vehicle collision. The Cadillac had crashed into a black SUV and a black car.
"A vehicle had gone off the road and hit two parked vehicles and then turned over onto its side and hit a tree," Guelph police spokesperson Scott Tracey told CBC News.
Tracey said witnesses saw a man get out of the car and run away.
There were signs at the crash site that the man had been injured, so police did an "extensive" search to find him and check on his well-being, Tracey said.
"After approximately 50 minutes, our canine unit was able to find him hiding in a backyard in the immediate area," he said.
"Due to the nature of the driving and the presence of used drug paraphernalia in the vehicle, officers believe the male was impaired and asked for blood to be taken for further analysis," a release sent out by police Thursday said.
The investigation revealed the Cadillac car had been stolen from Waterloo region.
The 39-year-old has been harged with motor vehicle theft, possessing stolen property over $5,000, dangerous driving, impaired driving, failing to stop after an accident and driving while prohibited.
Shortly after his arrest, the man was sent to a hospital in Hamilton for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
He is scheduled to appear in court May 16.
