London woman dead following east end house fire
The cause of the fire is still unknown, police say

A 39-year-old London woman is dead just days after she was injured in a house fire in the city's east end.
Fire crews arrived at a house on Avalon Street, near the intersection at Clarke Road and Dundas Street, shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday.
London Fire Department Platoon Chief Colin Shewell said at the time that one person was found on the lawn, and there was heavy smoke and flames.
The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries, according to London police.
"We were later advised that the injuries were life-threatening in nature and she has since succumbed as a result of those injuries," London police Sgt. Sandasha Bough said.
The woman's exact injuries are still unclear, but police confirmed they were a result of the fire.
Firefighters did not find anyone else inside the home, and neighbouring houses were evacuated for nearly two hours as a safety precaution at the time of the fire, police said.
Damage is estimated at $500,000, Shewell said, and the cause of the fire is unknown.
An investigation between the London Police Service major crime section and street crime unit, the Ontario Fire Marshall and Chief Coroner is ongoing.
Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call London police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
