A woman has been arrested in connection with an incident in December, when another woman was assaulted and held captive in a Winnipeg apartment, according to a Wednesday police news release.

Evelyn Maria McKay, 40, is the last of five people to be charged in connection with the incident last month inside a suite on Carlton Street in the city's downtown.

She was located by police Tuesday night, around 10 p.m., on Jubilee Avenue off Nassau Street South, in the Lord Roberts neighbourhood, police said.

An arrest warrant had been issued for McKay on robbery and forcible confinement charges in relation to the attack

No further arrests are anticipated, police said in the release.

A 27-year-old woman was violently assaulted and forcibly restrained over several hours at the Carlton suite on Dec. 9, police have previously said.

After the assault, the woman was forced into a dumpster behind the building while still restrained. She was there for about an hour, in sub-zero temperatures, before someone heard her screams and freed her.
