A 53-year-old man is dead after the ATV he was driving rolled and pinned him in a creek, RCMP say.

Officers were called around 8:30 a.m. Saturday to North Central Road in Ebb and Flow First Nation, about 170 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.

They and other emergency crews found the ATV on its side in a metre of water. The man was under the vehicle and pronounced dead.

RCMP believe he came across a steep slope sometime overnight and lost control of the ATV, which then rolled.

The man was not wearing a helmet.
