A 38-year-old man was found dead inside a home that burned earlier this week in western Manitoba.

Emergency crews were called around 6 a.m. Wednesday to the home off of Highway 357 in the municipality of Clanwilliam-Erickson, just south of Riding Mountain National Park.

Once the fire was extinguished, firefighters went into the home and found the man, RCMP said in a news release on Friday.

An autopsy confirmed he died as a result of injuries from the fire.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
