Police say there has been an increase in hit-and-run collisions recently
A teenager was rushed to hospital after being hit by a vehicle near Elgin Avenue and Gertie Street in Winnipeg early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the area around 1:30 a.m. and found the 15-year-old girl in unstable condition. The vehicle had taken off.

Murray said there has been a dangerous increase recently in hit-and-run collisions in the city, some which have been fatal.
"It's unfortunate that a number of families have had to go through this in the past month," he said.
On May 21, a 30-year-old man died after he was hit by a vehicle on Cumberland Avenue, near the intersection with Carlton Street.
An 18-year-old man remains in critical condition after a hit and run on Jefferson Avenue, east of the McPhillips Street intersection, last weekend.

The same weekend, an eight-year-old girl was also injured after being hit by a truck while riding her bike on Westgrove Way.
"I think in any situation, if you cause an accident it's best to pull over," Murray said.
The investigations are ongoing.
