A man is dead after the off-road vehicle he was driving rolled over on a field in northern Manitoba.
The 31-year-old from Minithayinikam (St. Theresa Point First Nation) was travelling in a field near the community when he lost control of the utility task vehicle last week, RCMP said Tuesday.
Police said they responded to the call around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday. They allege the man was driving carelessly, causing the rollover.
The 31-year-old was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, police said. He was taken to a nursing station, where he was pronounced dead.
A 34-year-old woman also from the First Nation was a passenger on the vehicle. Police said she was treated at the nursing station and released.
Minithayinikam is about 460 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.
