Leaf Rapids resident living in Thompson missing: RCMP

RCMP are asking for the public's help in finding a woman who has been missing for almost a week in northern Manitoba.

RCMP are asking for the public's help in finding a woman who has been missing for almost a week in northern Manitoba. 

Melanie Bighetty, 42, was last seen in the early afternoon hours of May 17, police said in a news release on Friday. 

Bighetty was a resident of Leaf Rapids, which is about 750 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg, but she was living on Princeton Drive in Thompson, police said. She was reported missing on Monday.

She is five feet, four inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes, police said.
