Man charged with manslaughter in death of Norway House woman

A 35-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a 23-year-old woman was found dead in Norway House home on Tuesday, Manitoba RCMP say.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after a 23-year-old woman was found dead in Norway House home on Tuesday, Manitoba RCMP say.

Mounties were called to the home in the community, about 460 kilometres north of Winnipeg, at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, police previously said.

When RCMP and paramedics arrived, they found the woman dead inside.

On Thursday, RCMP said Derek Bruce Forbister, 35, of Norway House, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with her death.

He and the victim knew each other, police said. Mounties did not identify the woman in the news release. 

RCMP's major crime services, along with the Norway House detachment and forensic identification services, continue to investigate.
