Man's death in North Point Douglas was homicide, police believe

The death of a 52-year-old man in Winnipeg's Point Douglas area earlier this week is being investigated as homicide.

The death of a 52-year-old man in Winnipeg's Point Douglas area earlier this week is being investigated as homicide. 

Winnipeg police responded to reports of suspicious circumstances in a home on Austin Street N., near Selkirk Avenue, around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers found a deceased man with injuries to his upper body, police said in a news release on Thursday. 

The victim has since been identified as Clinton Simard, 52, from Winnipeg.

The homicide unit is investigating. No suspect information has been released.
