Drivers who use Highway 720 East and take the Ville-Marie tunnel under downtown Montreal are about to face new traffic woes.
- On-ramp from Highway 15 North to 720 East now closed
- Turcot Interchange ramp to downtown Montreal to close for 1.5 years
- Highway 20 ramps on Montreal West interchange to close until 2019
Transports Québec has announced the eastbound lanes of the tunnel will be closed to traffic at night "intermittently" until 2017.
The closures will be periodic, and motorists will be redirected to detours through residential streets.
Transports Québec could not provide the exact dates of the road closures, but the ministry urges drivers to check the 511 Québec website.
The roadwork is part of the Turcot Interchange redevelopment project.
