Heavy rainfall expected for southern parts of New Brunswick

Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for southern parts of the province.

Significant rainfall amounts of between 50 and 60 millimetres are expected in Fundy National Park and Charlotte, Saint John and Kings counties.

The weather agency said rain will begin Saturday afternoon and taper to isolated showers early Sunday morning.

Environment Canada says flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
