Polar bear tracks spotted on Fogo Island

The RCMP are warning people on Fogo Island to be on the lookout for a polar bear.

There were reports Monday of a bear near the community of Tilting, and fresh bear tracks were found Tuesday, the force said. 

RCMP and wildlife officers are on patrol in the area Wednesday to see if the bear is still around.

Police are urging anyone who encounters a bear to be extremely cautious and report any sightings to officials immediately.
