Police say a woman died at a home Thursday

The RCMP is investigating what it's calling a suspicious death in Colliers, about 17 kilometres northwest of Holyrood, N.L.

In a news release sent Friday morning, the RCMP said the woman died at a home in the town on Thursday night.

The major crimes unit is involved in the investigation, along with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The RCMP didn't offer any other details about the investigation.

The investigation is being led by the RCMP NL Major Crime Unit, with support from Forensic Identification Services and Holyrood Detachment.

 

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is engaged and the investigation is continuing.

 

Residents of Colliers can expect to see an increased police presence in the community over the next number of days.  At this time, no general threat to public safety has been identified.
