An Arizona man is dead after his motorhome went off the road on the Alaska Highway in Yukon on Sunday.

RCMP said in a news release on Monday that they were called to the single-vehicle collision just after 2 p.m. Sunday near Marsh Lake, south of Whitehorse.

The two people in the motorhome — a man and a woman, both from Arizona and heading northbound — were taken to hospital where the man later died. There is no word from police on the woman's injuries.

The incident happened just two days after another fatal collision about 34 kilometres further north on the Alaska Highway.

Police say that incident on Friday involved two men from Alaska, also travelling northbound. Their truck rolled over about three kilometres south of the Lewes River bridge, killing the driver. Police say the passenger was treated for minor injuries.

The highway was closed for several hours on Friday after that collision.

RCMP and the Yukon coroner are still investigating both incidents but police say there is no indication that alcohol is a factor in either crash.
