Yellowknife RCMP found marijuana hidden inside a box of cereal destined for Lutsel K'e, N.W.T., on Friday, as part of an investigation at a local airline hangar.

In a news release, RCMP say officers went to the hangar shortly before 11 a.m., and found 181 grams of marijuana inside a box of Shredded Wheat cereal.

Later in the day, officers returned to the hangar and seized a package that was being shipped to Gameti, N.W.T. — it turned out to contain six bottles of vodka.

RCMP say over the past two weeks officers also found eight bottles of vodka and 12 cans of beer in cargo and bags destined for communities that have restrictions on liquor.

The incidents are still under investigation, and no charges have been laid yet.
