Man has serious injuries after shooting in Halifax

Halifax police are investigating a shooting early Friday that temporarily closed a busy roundabout in the city's west end.

Halifax police are investigating a shooting that temporarily closed a section of a busy roundabout in the city's west end early Friday morning.

Police say officers were called to the 200-300 block of St. Margarets Bay Road around 5:30 a.m.

They say a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

St. Margarets Bay Road from Fenerty Road to the Armdale roundabout was closed Friday morning as police investigated.

Investigators say they do not believe the shooting was random and there is no threat to the public.
