Man, 22, in hospital after shooting in downtown Windsor
Police say victim was shot following an altercation between 2 groups
The Windsor Police Service is investigating an early-morning downtown shooting that sent one person to hospital.
Shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 400 block of Ouellette Avenue, where officers found a 22-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
Police said the victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No further information has been released on the identity of the man.
"An initial investigation revealed the victim was shot following an altercation between two groups," police said in a news release.
The Windsor Police Major Crimes Unit is asking residents and business owners in the immediate area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. for possible evidence.
