Three people suffered serious injuries after a series of attacks in Halifax's north end Wednesday evening.

In a news release Thursday, Halifax Regional Police said officers responded to a report of a man being struck by a black vehicle in the 6200 block of Africville Road around 7:05 p.m. AT.

When officers arrived, they found two injured people — the man who had been hit and a woman who appeared to have been struck by a weapon.

About 15 minutes later, officers responded to another call from the 3800 block of Memorial Drive about a group of people who had just assaulted a man with a weapon. The group fled in two black vehicles soon after the attack.

All three victims were transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say they believe the incidents are related and occurred after a dispute that started earlier that evening.
