Dartmouth crash claims life of 16-year-old boy

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred in Dartmouth on Wednesday night. The crash, on Main Street near Ridgecrest Drive, claimed the life of a 16-year-old motorcyclist and left the occupants of the other vehicle with minor injuries.

A 16-year-old boy died Wednesday night after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car in Dartmouth, N.S.

In a news release Thursday, Halifax Regional Police said emergency crews responded to the crash on Main Street near Ridgecrest Drive at about 8:40 p.m. AT.

The teenager was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Paramedics treated the occupants of the other vehicle at the scene for minor injuries.

The area was closed to traffic for several hours while police investigated.
