A 70-year-old man is dead after crashing his ATV into a tree Saturday night in the Pontiac, Quebec provincial police say.

A 70-year-old man is dead after crashing his ATV Saturday night in the Pontiac, Quebec provincial police say.
First responders were called to the scene of the crash on chemin Richard in the municipality of Alleyn and Cawood, Que., at around 9 p.m., according to the Sûreté du Québec.
The man's injuries were critical, police told Radio-Canada. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, they said.
Initial reports suggest the ATV had collided with a tree, the SQ said. Their investigation is continuing.
The scene of the crash is roughly 100 kilometres northwest of downtown Ottawa.
