Woman, 95, found dead after residential fire in South Glengarry
OPP say a man, 73, managed to escape the blaze late Monday night

The body of a 95-year-old woman has been found following a residential fire in South Glengarry Township, Ont., on Monday night.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said the fire broke out shortly after 11 p.m. in a home on Fourth Line Road. The residence was fully engulfed by the time first responders arrived, OPP said in a news release.
Police said a man, 73, managed to escape the blaze with minor injuries. He was transported to Glengarry Memorial Hospital hospital in serious but stable condition, according to a statement attributed to the deputy chief of the local paramedic service.
South Glengarry Fire Services Chief Dave Robertson said the man told firefighters the woman was still inside the burning house, but the flames were too intense to enter.
"We did not go within the building until conditions were warranted that we could enter the area," Robertson told CBC. "So all firefighting efforts were defensive, which means they were completed from the exterior."
The house, which is roughly 10 kilometres from the nearest fire station and 400 metres from the road, was destroyed, Robertson said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by OPP and the Ontario Fire Marshal. The OPP's forensics unit is also assisting.
