Several tonnes of reclaimed asphalt have been stolen from a work site in Saskatchewan.

The thieves would have needed multiple trucks, or used the same truck over and over, to take the amount that was stolen, RCMP said in a news release.

The reclaimed asphalt was taken sometime between April 28 and May 9 from a work site along Highway 31 at Stranraer, which is about 170 kilometres west of Saskatoon.

Police are asking people in the area to check their home security cameras and dash cameras for any suspicious activity.

They're also asking landowners in the area to check if any material has been dumped or stored on their property.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Rosetown RCMP or make an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers.
