Sudbury police arrest 4 in connection with Lansdowne St. homicide, continue search for suspected shooter
Victim was a 21-year-old man, shooting believed to be ‘targeted’: police
Four people have been arrested after a man was found dead in a pickup truck parked in a home's garage on Sunday, while a search continues for the individual believed to be responsible for the killing, police said.
Officers and emergency responders were dispatched to a home on Lansdowne Street Sunday afternoon after they were informed about a suspicious vehicle on the property, Greater Sudbury Police said in their initial news release about the crime.
Firefighters gained access to the black Dodge Ram pickup truck where they found the dead man inside with a gunshot wound.
Police said the victim was a 21-year-old, and they believe this was "a targeted attack."
Around 3:30 p.m. on Monday, detectives from the Major Crime Section of the Criminal Investigation Division located and arrested a 23-year-old woman for accessory after the fact to murder.
Police said they believe the woman was the driver at the time of the incident and that she then hid the vehicle in the garage off Lansdowne Street where police found it with the body inside.
In a news release on Friday, police announced the arrest of the other three people — two women, ages 22 and 25, and a 23-year-old man. They were each charged with accessory after the fact to murder, police said.
According to police, all four individuals are known to frequent the address on Lansdowne Street where the body was located.
