1 dead after Etobicoke house fire

A male is dead after a house fire in Etobicoke, Toronto police say. Firefighters responded to the blaze on Willowridge Road, near Eglinton Avenue W., around 11:16 p.m. Thursday.

A male is dead after a house fire in Etobicoke, Toronto police say.

Firefighters responded to the blaze on Willowridge Road, near Eglinton Avenue W., around 11:16 p.m. Thursday.

While battling the fire, they found a male inside the single-detached home and transferred him to the care of paramedics.

He was taken to hospital, where he later died, according to police.

No further information about the male was immediately available.

The fire was brought under control in the early morning hours Friday.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been notified and will be investigating the origin of the blaze alongside Toronto Fire.
