A man in his 20s is dead after being found with life-threatening injuries in the Annex early Sunday morning, Toronto police said.

Police found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries in the area of Paul Martel Park, near the intersection of Bloor Street W. and Madison Avenue, just after 12:30 a.m., said Det. Sgt. Phil Campbell with the homicide unit.

Police provided first-aid before the man was rushed to hospital but later he succumbed to his injuries, Campbell said.

Campbell said he couldn't comment on what caused the man's injuries or whether a weapon was involved, adding that police are hoping witnesses will come forward to tell them more about what led to the man's injuries.

"I don't want to get into that right now, I really don't, because I want whoever's out there watching to tell us what happened," he said.

Police believe there may be three suspects that were involved, Campbell said.

"I want them to know if they're watching, somebody died, and whatever happened between this party and our victim resulted in his death," he said.

"That's somebody's kid. So do the right thing, get a hold of a lawyer and get a hold of us."

Campbell said police will release the victim's identify once his next of kin have been notified.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
