OPP charge Amherstburg man with sexual assault of a person under 16

Ontario Provincial Police say they have arrested a 46-year-old Amherstburg man accused of sexual assault.

The man is charged with sexual interference and sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age

Ontario Provincial Police say they have arrested a 46-year-old Amherstburg man accused of sexual assault.

They made the arrest on Thursday, a day after the assault was reported, according to a news release issued Friday by Essex OPP.

The man is charged with sexual interference and sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age.

The accused was held pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

OPP are urging anyone who is a victim of sexual assault to contact Victim Services of Windsor and Essex County, the Windsor Regional Hospital Sexual Assault Treatment Centre or the Sexual Assault Crisis Centre.
