Driver dies in Sarnia-area single-vehicle crash

Lambton OPP say a Sarnia resident has died after their vehicle left a roadway in the village of Point Edward, hit a tree then hydro pole.

Lambton OPP say a Sarnia resident has died after their vehicle left a roadway in the village of Point Edward, hit a tree then hydro pole.

It happened Wednesday around 8 p.m., according to authorities on Michigan Avenue near Louisa Street.

The driver, an 81-year-old, was the lone person in the vehicle.

The fatal crash closed a portion of Michigan Avenue for several hours.
