Stand-up comedian Ophira Eisenberg, who is also the quick-witted host of NPR's trivia show Ask Me Another, led The Moth's first-ever Mainstage event in Canada on Thursday night. She regularly tours with the tremendously popular storytelling radio hour, podcast and live event.

Raised in Calgary and now based in New York, Eisenberg talks about returning to her home turf, how her Canadian upbringing in a family of six inspired her to make people laugh, and how storytelling has changed her voice as a comedian.

"In storytelling, you cannot hide behind anything," she says. "Really, you kind of want to throw yourself up there, tell the truth and be vulnerable."
