Lia Mills's 1916 novel "Fallen" is One Book for Two Cities (Dublin and Belfast)
Lia MIlls is the author of "Fallen," a novel based on the events of 1916. "Fallen" is the book at the centre of this year's Two Cities One Book event - a cross-border literary festival that will see people from Dublin and Belfast read the novel together.
Lia Mills is an acclaimed Irish writer and poet whose novel, Fallen, is a recreation of the chaotic, bewildering events of Easter Week, 1916, from the perspective of ordinary people who suddenly saw their streets and neighbourhoods overtaken by snipers, armed rebels and soldiers.
With this year's centenary of the Easter Rising, Lia Mills is now one of Ireland's most prominent writers; readers in Dublin have joined their counterparts in Belfast to read Fallen together in the "Two Cities One Book" festival.
