1 dead, 2 injured after collision in Caledonia, Ont., Tuesday, police say

A driver has died after a car and SUV collided in Haldimand County on Tuesday afternoon. 

The passenger in the car was taken to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries, said Haldimand County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in a news release. 

The driver of the SUV was being treated for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car experienced serious, life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital, OPP say. 

The collision took place on Argyle Street S., east of Highway 6, in Caledonia. 

"To family members and friends of the deceased, I wanted to sincerely say how sorry we are and you have our thoughts and deepest condolences," Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said in a video posted to X Tuesday evening. 

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage to get in touch with the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
