OPP seeking public's help in abduction and death of Cambridge man

Wellington County OPP have released photos of a vehicle they're searching for in connection to a fatal collision in Guelph, Ont. on May 14. They believe the victim, a 40-year-old man, was assaulted, kidnapped and abducted by five suspects who drove in two different cars.

Police are asking the public for help with information about five suspects they believe are connected to the abduction and death of a 40-year-old man in Guelph, Ont. 

On Wednesday, the Wellington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called around 6 p.m. to the scene of a crash between two vehicles on Hanlon Parkway north of Stone Road. 

A man was found at the scene with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance but later died. 

Police learned he was from Cambridge, Ont. and said he may have been the victim of much more than a collision. 

In a media release, OPP say this man was "assaulted, kidnapped and abducted" from a residence on Fife Road in Guelph by five suspects in two different vehicles. 

Police are now searching for a white 2013 Dodge RAM pickup truck with an Ontario licence plate BZ 85153. The other vehicle involved was a grey 2010 Toyota Venza SUV.

OPP say they believe this was an isolated incident. The Wellington County Crime Unit and Guelph Police Service are now working with the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. 

They're asking all residents or businesses in the area to review their security camera footage and share any relevant photos or videos with the OPP. 

Drivers who were in the area or witnessed the crash are asked to check their dash cams for any footage that may have the collision or the vehicles.
