Man arrested after Cambridge man's abduction and death in Guelph, 5th suspect remains at large

A 51-year-old Guelph man wanted by police in the abduction and death investigation of a Cambridge man has been arrested.
Wellington County OPP say the man was arrested on Tuesday and has been charged with assault with a weapon and kidnapping.
It's part of an investigation dating back to May 14 when. around 6 p.m., Wellington County OPP responded to a collision on the Hanlon Parkway, north of Stone Road in Guelph.
A 40-year-old Cambridge man was found with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Through the investigation, officers learned the man had been abducted from a residence on Fife Road in Guelph by five suspects in two vehicles.
"Investigators believe, while traveling southbound on the Hanlon Parkway, the victim was outside the first vehicle, a Toyota Venza SUV, when he was struck by the second vehicle, a Dodge Ram pickup truck, that was following closely behind," police said.
The pickup truck had the Ontario licence plate BZ 85153.
Police said in a release Wednesday that they wanted to thank the public for "the valuable information that contributed to the apprehension of the wanted individual."
Police are also asking all residents or businesses in the area to review their security camera footage and share any relevant photos or videos with the OPP. People can also reach out to Crime Stoppers to provide tips anonymously.
"While this remains an isolated incident, the OPP reminds all members of the public to remain vigilant and contact police if they observe anything suspicious," Wellington OPP said.
Three other people had been previously arrested and charged in connection to the case. They were all charged with kidnapping and assault with a weapon. One of the people charged is a 16-year-old from Guelph.
