1 person dead, 1 arrested after downtown London stabbing

London police have arrested one man following a fatal stabbing near the intersection of Colborne Street and Princess Avenue. The investigation is still ongoing.

London police have arrested one man following a fatal stabbing near the city's downtown core Sunday afternoon.

Just after 1 p.m., crews arrived at the intersection of Colborne Street and Princess Avenue where they found an adult man with stab wounds, police said.

The man was transported to hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, where he later died, police said. 

Police learned the suspect fled the area by foot, but he was found a short distance away, and arrested. 

The suspect remains in custody. Police say there is no threat to public safety.
