A person found dead in a Winnipeg recycling depot on Thursday went into a bin to seek shelter, police say, ruling out foul play in the death.

The body was found at a material recovery facility in St. Boniface Industrial Park on Mazenod Road on Thursday morning.

The homicide unit assumed the investigation, and police said on Friday an autopsy had ruled out foul play in the person's death.

The investigation into the death continues. Identification of the body, which police believe is a man, is still pending, police say.
