Wind blows over semi-trailer, partially closing Highway 1 near Portage la Prairie

A tipped-over semi-trailer partly closed a section of westbound Highway 1 near Portage la Prairie on Monday morning.

A tipped-over semi-trailer partly closed a section of westbound Highway 1 near Portage la Prairie on Monday.

Around 11:45 a.m., Portage la Prairie RCMP were at westbound Highway 1 and Road 42 W., where the wind had blown over a semi-trailer as it was being towed, police said in an email to CBC.  

Winds were gusting up to 57 km/h around that time, said weather reports from Environment Canada.

The highway was partially closed to the right of the semi-trailer. 

No injuries were reported, police said. 

An alert from Manitoba 511 said the highway was open again around 3:15 p.m. Monday.
