Winnipeg woman, 34, dead after collision in Interlake region on Monday night
Driver, passenger of other vehicle not seriously injured
A 34-year-old woman from Winnipeg died after her sedan was struck by a pickup truck in the Interlake region on Monday, police say.
RCMP received a report of a collision at the intersection of highways 326 and 329 in the rural municipality of Bifrost, Man., around 5 p.m. Monday, police said in a news release Tuesday.
Officers saw two vehicles in the ditch, southwest of the intersection, when they got to the area, police said.
Investigators learned that a pickup truck was travelling south on Highway 326 when it hit a sedan that was headed west through the intersection.
The driver and lone occupant of the sedan, a 34-year-old woman from Winnipeg, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 58-year-old man from Arborg, Man., was treated at the site of the crash and released with no physical injuries. His passenger, a 53-year-old woman from Arborg, was taken to hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
RCMP continue to investigate.
