Pedestrian in his 70s struck by car in Villeray
A Montreal man in his 70s is in critical condition after he was hit by a car this afternoon while crossing a street in Villeray.
Police say collision was an accident, man was jaywalking

A man in his 70s is in critical condition after he was struck by a car this afternoon.
According to Montreal police, the man was crossing Christophe-Colomb Avenue between Everett Street and Jean Talon Street East this afternoon, when he was hit by a car heading south.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m.
Police said the man was taken to hospital with life-threatening head injuries.
As of midnight, police said the man was still in critical condition.
According to police the driver was not injured.
Police say the incident was an accident — the man was not crossing the street at a designated intersection.
Christophe-Colomb Avenue has been re-opened to traffic.
