Police investigating fatal ATV crash in Nain
An 18-year-old woman died in the incident
Police are investigating the death of an 18-year-old woman after an ATV crash in northern Labrador.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. AT Saturday morning, in Nain — the northernmost community in Nunatsiavut.
In a news release sent Tuesday afternoon, the RCMP said officers responded to the crash at a local playground.
They found the woman, who had been driving the vehicle, trapped underneath it.
Emergency crews were able to free her, but she was taken to the Nain Community Clinic where she was pronounced dead.
Both police and the Chief Medical Examiner's office are investigating the death.
