Filming has wrapped on Frontier, a new historical drama TV series shot largely in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Allan Hawco, executive producer and actor, tweeted the news that shooting wrapped Wednesday morning.

Frontier cast members include Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa, as well as William Belleau, Breanne Hill and Jessica Matten.

The Discovery Canada series, created by Rob Blackie and Peter Blackie, will follow the struggle to "control wealth and power in the North American fur trade in the late 18th century," according to a news release from Bell in April.

The six-episode series will debut this year in Canada on Bell Media platforms including Discovery, Discovery GO, and CraveTV, and on Netflix in international markets.

Discovery ordered the series from Take the Shot Productions, an independent production company that also produced CBC's Republic of Doyle.

It was filmed mostly in this province, but shot in Louisbourg, N.S., Morrisburg, Ont., and Cornwall, U.K.
