Royal Newfoundland Constabulary spokesperson Danielle Barron told CBC in an email on Monday police were responding to reports of a weapons offence on Mooney Crescent.

"There were no injuries and one person was taken into custody," she says.

The RNC placed a shelter-in-place order around 1:30 p.m. NT Sunday, which was lifted around 2:45 p.m.

A heavy police presence remained in the area after the order was lifted as police continued their investigation into the incident.

In a social media post, the RNC said they arrived on scene to respond to the incident and asked the public to follow police direction.

The shelter-in-place order was issued for areas surrounding Mooney Crescent, including: Old Petty Harbour Road, Bay Bulls Road, Cemetery Lane, Silverton Street, Kilbride Avenue, Brennan Field, Densmore Lane, Huntingdale Drive, Carondale Drive, Ashbourne Drive, Royal Oak Drive, and other areas in between those streets.
