RNC responded to report of 'loud bang' in Airport Heights, no charges laid
RNC say ‘heavy police presence’ was focused on a home, several people asked to leave
Police are still investigating after a disturbance at a home in the Airport Heights area of St. John's Friday morning.
Just after 3 a.m. NT, police said a number of Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers, along with the force's tactical response unit, arrived at a home on Savannah Park Drive.
The RNC said it was responding to a report of a disturbance at the home, followed by a "loud bang."
A short time after their arrival, police say a number of people vacated the property at their direction.
In a release Friday afternoon, Danielle Barron, the force's director of communications, said no injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. Barron did not offer any further details.
The RNC is asking residents to steer clear of the area, and say officers will remain on the scene to continue their investigation.
