Man and woman found dead in Mount Pearl home, say police

Police say they are investigating after a man and woman were found dead in a Mount Pearl home over the weekend.

Police say they death of a man and a woman in their Mount Pearl home over the weekend is not suspicious.

In a statement, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary say it received an emergency call on Saturday around 6:18 p.m. NT.

"Police entered the home and found a male and female deceased in the residence," read the statement, released on Sunday.

The cause of death was not specified.

RNC's major crimes unit and the chief medical examiner's office were involved in the investigation.

In a statement on Monday, the RNC told CBC News the deaths are not deemed as suspicious.

"The cause of death remains under investigation," said spokesperson Danielle Barron in statement on behalf of the RNC.

"The RNC offers sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased."
