Fatal house fire kills 2 in Seal Cove on Baie Verte Peninsula
One woman escaped home and was treated for injuries
A house fire in the early morning hours on Friday in Seal Cove, N.L. has killed a man and a child and sent a woman to hospital.
A statement from the RCMP said officers were called to a home on Andrews Road in the Baie Verte Peninsula community around 3:30 a.m. NT while firefighters attempted to put out the blaze.
Police say a woman was able to escape the home and was transported for medical attention.
"The two remaining occupants of the residence and a pet died inside the home," reads the statement, issued around noon on Friday.
A fire scene investigator will be visiting the site on Friday, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is involved and the police investigation is ongoing.
