97-year-old pedestrian killed in crash in Prince Edward County

A 97-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a SUV in Prince Edward County on Tuesday afternoon.

Collision happened on County Road 3 in Carrying Place Tuesday afternoon

A 97-year-old woman was killed when she was hit by a SUV in Prince Edward County on Tuesday afternoon, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

The crash happened on County Road 3 west of Weese Road in Carrying Place around 5:30 p.m., a news release said.

The unnamed woman from the county was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information, especially footage, to contact them.

The crash happened on the county's north shore, about 30 kilometres northwest of Picton.
