Smiths Falls woman dies after crash near Merrickville
A 26-year-old woman from Smiths Falls died of her injuries after driving off County Road 43 east of Merrickville and hitting a tree Tuesday morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

A 26-year-old woman from Smiths Falls died of her injuries after driving off County Road 43 east of Merrickville and hitting a tree Tuesday morning, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
In a Wednesday news release, OPP said they responded to the single-vehicle crash near Bolton Road just after 7 a.m.
The victim was driving alone and later succumbed to her injuries in hospital, police said. They did not release her name.
The crash happened about five kilometres from downtown Merrickville, 20 kilometres east of Smiths Falls and 50 kilometres south of downtown Ottawa.
