A cyclist is dead after being hit by a vehicle east of Manotick Saturday afternoon, police say.

The crash happened on Mitch Owens Road between Spratt and Limebank roads at around 12:30 p.m., Ottawa Police Service said in a news release.

The cyclist, a woman in her 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Ottawa police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash or captured it on video to reach out.

The woman's name has not been released.
